THON 2016

The fundraising total for THON 2016 is revealed.
The Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon--more commonly known as THON--was held at the Bryce Jordan Center on the campus of Penn State University.  The event, which is the largest student run philanthropic in the world, raised over $9 million to help combat childhood cancer.

Upset Valley

Happy Valley turned into "Upset Valley" for two Penn State men's basketball games this past season.  On February 6, the Nittany Lions upset then No. 22 Indiana 68-63.  Then, a week and a half later, Penn State pulled off another upset, this time upending then No. 4 Iowa 79-75.  The Nittany Lions finished their 2015-2016 campaign at .500 with a 16-16 record.

Better Late Then Never: First Night State College 2016

Well, I guess it's true what they say, it's better latae then never, and such is the case with this post of photos from First Night in State College which took place on December 31, 2015.  This year's festival included live comedy, magic, and music shows, ice sculptures and a plethora of family activities.

2015-2016 BJC Wrestling Duals

The Penn State wrestling team hosted two duals inside the Bryce Jordan Center during the 2015-2016 season as part of their annual BJC Duals matches.

On December 13, the Nittany Lions hosted Wisconsin in the first BJC Dual of the season.  Penn State took down the Badgers in that match 36-7.

Annual fundraising event 'like three days of Christmas' for Juniata County family

MIFFLIN — One day in December 2009 when Morgen Johnson was just 2 years old, Morgen’s grandmother noticed blood in the toddler’s urine. The find led to calls to doctors, which led to an ultrasound, which ultimately led to a diagnosis of Wilms’ Tumor (a type of cancer that starts in the kidney and is commonly found in children) and finally a visit to the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey.

Pink Weekend at Penn State

Saturday and Sunday, January 16 and 17, was "Pink Weekend" at Penn State.  Both the women's gymnastics and Lady Lions basketball teams held their annual breast cancer awareness events.

First up, on Saturday, the Nittany Lion women's gymnastics team held their Flip for the Cure meet.  The Lions wore pink leotards and took on Big Ten foe Nebraska in Rec Hall.  Then, on Sunday, the Lady Lions broke out their pink jersies, and hosted Michigan, for their annual Pink Zone game in the Bryce Jordan Center.
